Alsann’s federal elections to start shortly

Alsann’s second round of federal elections are soon to open. Announced last month on AlsannGov, they are scheduled to begin on November 4. Electing the federal members of the Federal Council, representing all Alsann’s citizens, two candidates have chosen to contest as many seats, as James L in the seat of Capis chose not to contest.

Fan Breadfold, sitting member for Southwater, is seeking re-election to the Federal Council. An important character in Alsane politics, he has been a citizen since late 2022. The other contestant is the Officer-General, Kalan Cameron del Kersika, who is choosing to hold a seat only until other interest emerges. He has pledged to be politically unaffiliated during his time in office.

Six questions will be asked in the referendum section of the election. The first two ask about extending the legality of political parties and granting the Officer-General certain emergency powers. The third offers a selection of potential flag/crest sets, as seen above, for Alsann to adopt, and the fourth asks about extending any changes to other designs.

The fifth referendum question considers if Alsann should adopt the blue wren and bacon-and-egg plant as fauna and flora symbols (to replace the whistling kite and bluegrass lily). The final question asks if a constitutional convention should be created to formally codify Alsane governance.

An optional polling section has also been added, asking if Alsann should change its electoral system, become a principality, promote better citizen engagement and more. This ground-breaking, comprehensive election will shape Alsann for the year to come, and it is advised citizens vote, and vote with their beliefs.
