Alsann’s first Foundation Day passes without celebration, first awardees presented in Alsann

Three days ago today, the Alsane state achieved a year of existence. September 9, the day celebrating the first draft of the Alsann Proclamation, marks the first Alsane national holiday in the nation’s existence. This year, however, the day passed with little fanfare as Alsann appeared to forget.

The silence of the nation was simply put to an unfortunate absence of available time and resources to organise both the respectful ceremony of Foundation Day and the more lavish celebration of Independence Day, with plans instead to have the Foundation ceremony on Independence Day. Regardless, the day marks a milestone in Alsann as it becomes the first south-west state since Concordia to mark one year, and is now the longest-surviving active state as Concordia fell into absolute dormancy at its year anniversary.

It was also Alsann’s first national holiday, though the day was not taken by many as such. As Alsann still broils with anticipation for the midyear referendum, and the schoolwork begins to pile up, little time was left for the quiet recognition of the Alsane state by its people. Independence Day, on September 23, will likely have greater involvement, especially considering it falls on a weekend.

Finally, the Foundation Day awards were broadcast by the Alsane government on their new AlsannGov page for Announcements. Alsann’s new honours system was first employed to give the Order of the Alsane Shield to Kalan Cameron del Kersika, Mackenzie Arra and H Norman. Also awarded was the Alsane Service Medal to Kalan Cameron del Kersika and H Norman. The recent changes to honours were the first since the writing of the Alsann Proclamation.

Have a happy Independence Day (in advance).
