Officer-General: New election around the corner, current elections finally declared.

It has been 137 days since the final day of the federal elections in Alsann, 102 since the last update on it in January. For more than a third of the year, Alsann’s first-ever election went undeclared, with candidates only confirmed to have achieved winning votes.

The Alsane hiatus, including the Republic’s six-month anniversary gone without recognition, was peppered with short and infrequent attempts to organise a Federal Council meeting. All subsequently failed, with little progress made on new law or the assignment of Divisions. During this time, the only outward-facing signs of life were the occasional update on the half-field football League One. However, this changed last week when the Officer-General published a statement on the Media section of the Alsann government’s website.

On behalf of the AEO, the Officer-General formally declared James L and Fan Breadfold as the winners of Ithyca and Capis respectively. In the same announcement, he formally made the new chosen flag and crest official, with the national symbols set to be enforced as part of a proposed National Symbols code. He also established a military flag as one of the options for the national flag.

Importantly, the Officer-General announced a new set of elections that will begin on Saturday, May 20. Candidates wishing to participate in the election are advised to contact, or be contacted by, the Alsann website by May 14. They are the regional elections, when the members representing Aeonia, Kersika and Flinders are set up for election. It is also the time when local government is encouraged to run elections in collaboration with the federal government.

We look forward to bringing you the latest on the election as it happens. No candidates have yet come forward though all three are likely to contest their seat.
